2007 BMW 335i High Pressure Fuel Pump Replacement

2007 BMW 335i HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) failed and getting replaced

The powerful BMW twin-turbo, inline-six N54 engines delivers high performance and fuel economy via direct injection, using a high-pressure fuel pump to spray fine mists of fuel into the combustion chamber. However, the high pressure fuel pump is highly prone to premature failure. Affected models include the 2007 to 2010 335i series, the 2008 to 2010 135i, 535i and X6 xDrive35i Sports Activity Coupes and the 2009 to 2010 Z4 Roadster sDrive35i. Symptoms of this common problem include long engine starting times and sometimes the illumination of the Service Engine Soon lamp in the instrument cluster, reduced engine performance (Fail Safe operation), or stalling.
